Not all converters have enough power to be used to power large PDR Lights. The chip overheats and can short-circuit and give out full voltage, for example 18-21V to LEDs strips that is rated for 12 volts. As a result, the Light burns out.
There is a case of using a defective DEWALT 18-21V to 12V converter. Therefore, I strongly advise against using such converters without studying their characteristics!
